Marcus P. da Silva, Ph.D.

I am an engineer and a physicist.

I studied under Prof. Raymond Laflamme and Prof. Frank Wilhelm at the Institute for Quantum Computing, University of Waterloo (Waterloo, ON, Canada).

After obtaining my PhD, I was a post-doctoral fellow, working with Prof. Alexandre Blais and Prof. David Poulin the Institut quantique, Université de Sherbrooke (Sherbrooke, QC, Canada) from 2008 to 2011. I was part of the Quantum Information Processing group at BBN Technologies (Cambridge, MA, USA) from 2011 to 2017, and led the theory efforts at Rigetti Computing (Berkeley, CA, USA) from 2017 to 2019.

Since 2019 I have been a researcher at Microsoft Quantum (Redmond, WA).

These choices are consistent with conventions in Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries, and consistent with the recommendations from the MLA Handbook.
